Alright! Here goes one more attempt at Karaoke! ;-) Lots of sync issues… This song is so tough because there is not much connection between the song and the track!!!

My Immortal by Evanescence.

Warning: Not for the mild-hearted. Please press round pink button if you have any epileptic fits. Any remote resemblence to the original song is pure coincidence. :P

Dedicated to: V

I was just bony hands as cold as a winter pole
You held a warm stone out new flowing blood to hold
Oh what a contrast you were
To the brutes in the halls
My timid young fingers held a decent animal.

Over the ramparts you tossed
The scent of your skin and some foreign flowers
Tied to a brick
Sweet as a song
The years have been short but the days were long.

Cool of a temperate breeze from dark skies to wet grass
We fell in a field it seems now a thousand summers passed
When our kite lines first crossed
We tied them into knots
And to finally fly apart
We had to cut them off.

Since then it’s been a book you read in reverse
So you understand less as the pages turn
Or a movie so crass
And awkardly cast
That even I could be the star.

I don’t look back as much as a rule
And all this way before murder was cool
But your memory is here and I’d like it to stay
Warm light on a winter day.

Over the ramparts you tossed
The scent of your skin and some foreign flowers
Tied to a brick
Sweet as a song
The years have been short but the days go slowly by
Two loose kites falling from the sky
Drawn to the ground and an end to flight.

Where Does Love Go When It Dies? – Def Leppard

Could you ever steal a prayer to deny your god?
Could you ever buy your love and not count the cost?
Could you ever take a life when all was lost?
And would it ever be enough?

Could you bite the hand that feeds and then ask for more?
Could you kiss the wound that bleeds spit it on the floor?
Could you open up your heart then close the door?
And would it ever be enough?

Every word you whisper
All the tears you hide
You die for love when it’s alive
But where does love go when it dies?

If you came across your dream would you walk on by?
Hold a candle to the wind and just let it die?
And is there room inside your mind for one more try?
And would it ever be enough?

I watch the time go rushing by it’s like an ocean wave
Showing you no mercy throwing dirt upon your grave
You’re drowning in the darkness and you’re blinded by the light
And there ain’t no prayer that’s gonna save you now

If you woke up from your sleep blood on your hands
Would you wash the pain away no one understands?
There must be someone out there who can help you breathe again
And would it ever be enough?

I did a karaoke for one of my favorite Tamil songs. And this time I did not mess it up so much, but it could have been better.

I’ll confess that I’m hopeless when it comes to tuning my guitar. I found this utility on the internet with which I could tune my guitar much better. Yay!

And love is not the easy thing
The only baggage you can bring…
And love is not the easy thing…
The only baggage you can bring
Is all that you can’t leave behind

And if the darkness is to keep us apart
And if the daylight feels like it’s a long way off
And if your glass heart should crack
And for a second you turn back
Oh no, be strong

Walk on, walk on
What you got, they can’t steal it
No they can’t even feel it
Walk on, walk on
Stay safe tonight…

You’re packing a suitcase for a place none of us has been
A place that has to be believed to be seen
You could have flown away
A singing bird in an open cage
Who will only fly, only fly for freedom

Walk on, walk on
What you got they can’t deny it
Can’t sell it or buy it
Walk on, walk on
Stay safe tonight

And I know it aches
And your heart it breaks
And you can only take so much
Walk on, walk on

Home…hard to know what it is if you never had one
Home…I can’t say where it is but I know I’m going home
That’s where the heart is

I know it aches
How your heart it breaks
And you can only take so much
Walk on, walk on

Leave it behind
You’ve got to leave it behind
All that you fashion
All that you make
All that you build
All that you break
All that you measure
All that you steal
All this you can leave behind
All that you reason
All that you sense
All that you speak
All you dress up
All that you scheme…

Little dream, dancing in the moonlight

Here’s a song, for you this dark night

Little flower, starry dream, simple

Prancing about like a lamb, nimble

Tiny, fledgling-feathered, child of love

Singing into my mind, then and now

Shiny-quilled, flighty bird of paradise

Raining thin music like sweet-voiced lies

Angel feet skipping on the blue bridge

Flying tinkerbell into the misty ridge

Brittle clouds breaking into little shapes

Stillness painting yellow-gray, the landscapes

Little dream, fighting off wing clippers

Walking on dewy grass in lady’s slippers

Dying lamplight thronged by waltzing moths

Dainty love hopping through winding paths

Frail hope fishing for windy stars

Night dark stroking on early scars

Little dream dancing in the moonlight

I make a song for you this dark night

Just that, dreams are with pain replete

And this song trails off, incomplete…

“With your black hair falling down your shoulders and your breasts, you should be looking delicious…” he had once told me.

I tried to laugh it off inside my head, though it made me quiver with anticipation smothered by shyness. He rarely says such things to me.

Yesterday my springy-haired child gave me his copy of “An Equal Music”. He had written “To music itself” on the first page and had dated it 01/08/06. I would not even know if it was August or January. Yesterday was 10/03/07. The mystery would stay.

Today morning I woke up at five. And page 19 said “..with her black hair falling over her shoulders and down to her breasts, she looks delicious”

That surprised me. It told me that they had spoken to one another just as I had imagined. About “An Equal Music”, my levels of sweetness, neologisms and love. About physics, cigarettes, travel and the distance..

One had either tried stealing the other’s love for me or had imposed his own love for me on the other.

You could not have learned all those little things about him through me! And who else but you would recommend “An Equal Music” to a stranger…
